Up for sale, a 1972 Sakazo Nakade No. 1000G in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Often referred to as the father of modern Japanese luthiery, Sakazo Nakade and his brother Rokutaro introduced many classical guitar construction techniques to the land of the rising sun and were among the first modern Japanese luthiers. The brother Nakade began their careers as violin luthiers under Kinpachi Miyamoto and, in the 1950s, traveled to Spain and spent time under the tutelage of Spanish masters including Jos Ramrez III, Manuel Hernandez and Victoriano Aguado, whose instruments are widely considered to be some of the finest ever made. Very much reflecting the Spanish-style of guitar both in terms of construction and sonically, the No. 1000G was essentially Nakades take on the iconic Ramrez 1a, going so far as to incorporate Ramrezs signature seven-fan bracing on the German spruce top (sans treble bar). Other tonewoods include stunning bookmatched Brazilian rosewood back/sides, a one-piece mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard. Tonally this No. 1000G is also very much Spanish-style, warm and resonant with a lively vitality and pluck. Theres a round, brassy quality to the low end that provides an ideal potency for big strums, and plenty of power on tap in all registers to ensure the tonal quality remains balanced whether gently plucked or pushed to the limit with blistering rasgueados. This No. 1000G weighs 3lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mikes Guitar Bar with normal tension strings and ideal classical action.
